The Classical Music Heritage Trust (CMHT) is a voluntary, non-profit organization founded in 2002 to protect and promote the classical music tradition of Pakistan.
Once supported by royal patronage, today’s classical musicians face neglect and poverty. CMHT seeks to reverse this decline by supporting artists and reviving public interest in classical music.
Provide financial and moral support for classical musicians
Preserve and document Pakistan’s classical music heritage
Raise awareness and educate the public about classical traditions
Establish a formal teaching facility for classical music
Organize regular classical music concerts and events
Our valuable heritage of classical and semi-classical music is gradually disappearing due to lack of institutional support and public interest.
To address this, a group of concerned individuals resolved to establish a trust to preserve, promote, and encourage this dying art. The aim is to support Ustads, provide them with teaching spaces, and rekindle public appreciation for classical music. This mission requires collective efforts from all who value this cultural tradition
